I'm writing this letter to give my personal background and experience with regards to Building Rectification Services.
I was first introduced to BRS in April 2005, regarding some major balcony repairs being required at Peninsula Apartments.
After some serious searching, BRS was the only company which was prepared to tackle this major repair task.
From this project, BRS have since been engaged for numerous projects within the builidng which include;
- Waterproofing over 200 square meters of patio deck
- Dewatering and spear installation within our lower basement car park, which also included repairing 30 pitt grates
- Concrete spalling and Control joint repairs.
- Repairs as per Engineers Specifications to windows and balcony doors to all 244 units within the building and ongoing maintenance.
- Waterproofing the rooftop of the building including all duct work, repairing and waterproofing rooftop parapets.
Our latest engagement of BRS is the replacement of new balustrades to the entire building and a complete repaint.
After initially tendering for both projectss, BRS was accepted by the Body Corporate as the most economical and best suited candidate for both jobs.
BRS have had the task of arranging the new glass balustrade to be fabricated, allow for all access including swing stages, removal of the old balustrade, make good of any areas of concern and re-install and glaze the new balustrade.
Whilst the swing stages are in place, they have also followed behind washing down the building, carrying out any required repairs and then repaint the building as per our Engineers specifications.
During this project, Workplace Health and Safety Inspectors have frequently visited the building, and have commented that considering the size and nature of the project they have had no reason to fault any of the work practices being carried out by BRS.
To date, our Engineer has inspected and certified the first 35 units which have been completed and he has advised us that the quality of the product and quality of the workmanship meets all relevant standards and also complies with the quality assurance set out within the scope of works.
Over the past 4 years I have had the pleasure of dealing with both Management and the workers employed within BRS.
They are a truly professional organisation, and this is reflected within the quality of there work and numerous comments received by owners within the building who have become accustomed to BRS working within our building.
BRS take the time to find and give answers to the questions we tend to ask whenever a new challenge or project presents itself within our building.
It has been commented of late, that the balustrade replacement project at Peninsula is the biggest project of its kind being undertaken within Australia.
With this being said, we feel priviledged to have BRS as the Principal Contractor overseeing our project.
