Brisbane’s Iconic Glenfalloch Apartments
BRS Building Rectification Services have completed many projects over the years, each being unique and exciting.
Every so often a project comes along with a bit of history, and stage 2 of the iconic Glenfalloch Apartments, is one such story.
Built in 1959, the Glenfalloch Apartments are the oldest recorded dwelling in the area, and conveniently located in New Farm, on the northern banks of the Brisbane River. The Glenfalloch address is often referred to as “A dream positioned property”, which was brought to life by colourful developer Stanley Korman, who was responsible for bringing high-rise living to the Gold Coast.
Completing stage 1 back in 2012, Building Rectification Services scope of works for stage 2 was to; replace all of the remaining Windows/Doors and balustrades, as well as refurbish and repaint sections of the facade.
Set to finish in June this year, the BRS project management team are extremely happy with the progress of the project. Given its heritage listing status and the age of the building, the team have had to overcome many issues, which they are currently working through with the help of body corporate.
BRS is liaising very closely with residents of the Glenfalloch Apartments, with the help of body corporate, to coordinate a detailed programme so that the BRS team can access the full external façade as well as internal access through all apartments to ensure we meet our detailed schedule of works.
Being heritage listed, the outcome of this project isn’t to change the look of the building, rather preserve and extend the life of the original dwelling. Building Rectification Services are proud to be part of projects such as the Glenfalloch Apartments because we are helping to preserve a small bit of Brisbane’s history so that generations in the future can enjoy it just as they do now.
