High-Rise Window Replacement Methods
Replacing windows in a high-rise is nothing like swapping a window in a house. Most of the buildings we work on are fully occupied, so our methods are built around minimal intrusion. Windows are typically replaced from the outside using our own swing-stage systems, installed by our licensed scaffolders, which avoids scaffolding the entire facade and keeps disruption to residents to a matter of hours per unit rather than days.
Each project is planned unit by unit. Residents receive notice well before work reaches their level, and our team completes removal, installation and clean-up in a single visit wherever possible. Window replacement is often carried out alongside other remedial works such as facade refurbishment or balustrade replacement, which reduces overall access costs for the body corporate.
Window Replacement Products and Compliance
BRS works closely with Queensland-based suppliers, primarily G.James Glass & Aluminium, whose window systems carry higher water and wind resistance ratings than most alternatives on the market. On the Gold Coast, where salt air and wind-driven rain destroy standard fittings within decades, that rating difference determines how long your new windows last.
All windows and doors we install meet Australian Standards AS 2047 and AS 1288, covering window performance and glass safety, along with the wind loading requirements that apply to exposed coastal buildings.
